When You Hit A Plateau With Your Weight Loss
When You Hit A Plateau With Your Weight Loss
Dieters everywhere dread the plateau; the phase of your diet where all your hard work seems to get you no results. It seems that you are dieting and exercising your heart out for nothing. If you feel that you are currently on a dieting plateau, keep in mind that there has to be an up side (your previous weight loss), a leveling off (which you are currently experiencing) and a down side (which you’ll get to soon). Each plateau you come upon in your weight loss journey will have these same characteristics. Learning how to deal with them now will help you in the future.
Follow these guidelines to break through your dieting plateau and get back on the weight loss trail –
Continue to Exercise:
Even if it seems that you are not making progress towards weight loss, it is important to continue to exercise. Not doing so will allow extra pounds to creep back on. In fact, if you are experiencing a plateau, it may be wise to increase the amount or intensity of your exercise, to help you break out of your slump.
Continue to Eat Well:
Maintain the weight that you have lost so far by continuing to eat healthy foods. Do not use your plateau as an excuse for a binge, or drastically reduce your calorie count. Continue to eat the diet that has helped you lose weight so far. Do so consistently, and you will soon be out of the plateau.
Develop a Support Network:
Find a message board or a group of real life friends, and draw on them for support. This will help you to continue towards your weight loss goals, even when it becomes more difficult. If possible, find friends who are also dieting. They will be a great support to you throughout your weight loss journey.
As you fight your way through your dieting plateau, you are responsible for every action you take. Each decision you make will impact your weight loss now and in the future. Do the best you can to continue to make healthy choices, even though the scale may not show it.
If you have been exercising a lot, keep in mind that you may be losing fat and gaining muscle, leading to no drop in scale weight. Use the above guidelines to maintain your diet, and stay strong. Soon youll be breaking through that plateau and soaring on down the scale.

Fast Ways To Lose Weight
Most of us have had to wage our own little battle of the bulge at one point or another in our lives. To increase your odds of success the next time, here are some tips on the fast ways to lose weight.
Now, be aware, that these tips are going to be the best options you will have for fast ways to lose weight, the healthy ways only. Some of the tips I will give you may actually be a little borderline but they should be ok if you only use them for a short time to jump start to your weight loss.
Here are some important things to keep in mind:
1. Many times you can jump start your diet with a cleanse and / or a fast. Of course, before you start any type of diet, cleanse or exercise program you absolutely should talk to your doctor first. There can be dangerous side effects and that can be compounded if you already have some health issues.
A cleanse will enable you to cleanse your body of a buildup of fecal matter and toxins. It may sound gross but it can be a good way to lose some weight right off the bat.
Be aware, though, that this type of weight loss is almost always water weight. As soon as you start eating solid food again, you will just gain it all back. It is more about cleansing your body that any real weight loss.
2. Many people can actually benefit from eating more. That may sound weird but few people eat enough good food throughout their day to keep their metabolism firing hot all day long.
When I started eating 6 small, nutritious meals a day I lost weight. I lost 6 pounds in one week. It was challenging at first but it did work.
The best part of it was that I was giving my body what it needed… in other words I was losing weight in a healthy way.
3. Drink more water. Few of us drink as much water as we should. It’s recommended that you drink half of your body weight in ounces of water everyday.
For example, if you weigh 200lbs. you should drink 100 ounces of water daily. It can’t hurt to discuss this with your doctor too. Believe it or not it can be dangerous to drink too much water too. Find out what the right amount is for you.
4. Exercise. If you hate the idea of going to the gym than you must rearrange your thinking. There are a lot of exercising options that don’t require a gym membership. Find one or more that you like and then do them on a daily basis.
In our society we tend to over think things. We seem to think if we can’t do a marathon we can’t workout at all. Not true. Even small changes can make a big difference over time. Start small if you have to, but start.
The most important tip I can give you is to have realistic expectations. Fast ways to lose weight may be possible depending on what you mean by fast and how much weight you have to lose. But in most cases slow and steady weight loss, in a healthy way, will get you where you want to be and will make it easier for you to keep the weight off.

How To Loose Weight Fast
So, you are checking out how to loose weight fast. Well, I am here to tell you that fast is a relative term. Losing weight is difficult and the more you need to lose the longer it will take. You can probably hope to lose a pound or two a week if you are doing moderate exercise and making minimal changes to your eating habits.
If you get your doctor’s approval to hit it hard then you could safely lose five pounds a week but you also have to make significant changes in what you eat and stay away from all the bad carbs. I’m not saying you can’t reward yourself every once in a while but you must stay away from the sweets and the breads and the processed foods that you may or may not be used to.
Like I said losing weight is difficult but the theory is pretty simple. For anyone to lose weight, you need to burn more calories than you take in. Putting this theory into practice is where the difficulty comes in. It is very hard to make the changes we need to make when it comes to how to loose weight fast.
I know from personal experience that motivation is hard to come by and hard to maintain when you do find it. You could be going like gangbusters and all of a sudden wake up one morning and it could all just be gone. I gave in to it just being gone and gained back all the weight I had lost instead of fighting through it and trying to find the motivation to just keep plugging away.
I regret that now and I have yet to find that same level of motivation again. So here I sit, still overweight and very unhappy with myself. Don’t do this to yourself. If you find some motivation do everything in your power to keep it.
Take pictures of yourself along the way to see your progress as you continue to lose the weight. Have a friend work out with you to help keep you motivated. Do anything you can to stay motivated until you reach your weight loss goals.
If you join a gym, make an appointment with yourself to go everyday. Don’t just poke it with a stick. You will only be wasting money and you will never reach your goals. Make the commitment to yourself and go everyday even if it just for thirty minutes at a time. You can always work up to longer routines when you feel yourself getting stronger but just start with thirty minutes.
Always speak with your doctor before starting any workout routine. The last thing you want to do, at this point, is hurt yourself. Your doctor can tell you how to start and what you can expect along the way. When you get stronger and some of the weight comes off he may even be able to tell you how to proceed and how to increase your workouts. You may want to make an appointment with a personal trainer for some sessions to get going in the right direction when first starting how to loose weight fast.

How Much Weight Will Be Lost On The Atkins Diet
How Much Weight Will Be Lost On The Atkins Diet
While it doesn’t get nearly as much attention as it once did, the Atkins Diet is still a popular choice for a lot of people hoping to lose weight. But one of the main questions people want answered before they start it is: how much weight will be lost on the Atkins Diet? That’s a good question, and it shows that the person asking has a good idea of how much weight they want to lose. So, let’s take a look at some things you should know.
One study included 120 adults that were obese. Over the course of a full year, the average amount of weight lost was about 26 pounds. They also compared the results to a diet that had previously been proven effective. On that diet, people lost an average of about 13 pounds, or about half the amount that people lost when following the Atkins plan. That’s a pretty good sign that the diet works.
That sounds great, but there is a catch. This particular study did not look at what that weight loss was comprised of. Generally speaking, losing weight happens as the result of a combination of three things: reducing fat, muscle or water. So, if the Atkins dieters lost mostly water weight, then they would gain it back very quickly. If they lost muscle, then that’s not very healthy, and their muscle to fat ratio could have been impacted negatively. On the other hand, if they lost fat, then that would be the ideal result. Unfortunately, they did not test this part of the weight loss.
So maybe it’s not so much a question how much weight will be lost on the Atkins Diet, but rather what kind of weight will be lost. Shedding pounds is not worth it if it means losing water weight or muscle mass. You need to be concerned with healthy weight loss.
Healthy weight loss means you have to get a wide range of nutrients from a wide range of foods. The Atkins Diet is a low-carb diet, but you can basically eat all the fat and protein you want. You need to ask yourself if this is a good idea? The jury is still out, but at least you can eat more and more carbs as you get further into the diet.
As with any other weight loss plan, be sure to talk to your personal doctor or another qualified professional before starting the Atkins Diet. They will be more up to date on the current research, and will have the right insights into whether or not it’s a good diet for you personally.
Assuming you want to try it, and your doctor gives his approval, how much weight will be lost on the Atkins Diet is mostly up to you. Because there is one thing for sure, you will not lose any weight at all if you do nothing. But, you just read this article, so that’s not going to happen. You’re motivated to lose weight, now it’s up to you to take action.
