3 Day Diet Menu Eating Your Way To Thinness

If youre trying to lose weight, then theres a good chance youre looking for a 3 day diet menu. 3 day diets have been popular for decades, even before the internet came around. If youre old enough, you might remember your friends and family passing around photocopies of the various 3 day diet menu options. Nowadays, most of us get them in email form.

There are several different 3 day diets that are popular, with names like the Mayo Clinic Diet or the Cleveland Clinic diet or the Tuna and Water diet. Each of these has a different 3 day diet menu, but they all work by similar methods.

What most of these diets do is use a combination of low calories and low carbohydrates to elicit extremely fast weight loss, usually somewhere in the neighborhood of two pounds a day.

Generally speaking, they are usually said to have originated at a medical clinic to enable heart patients to lose weight before surgery. Most of the clinics have come out and denied that they were the originators of these programs, but they remain popular because the do get results.

Probably the most famous diet of this type is the one known as the Mayo Clinic Diet, or more simply as the Grapefruit Diet. This is different from the others in that, no surprise, it makes heavy use of grapefruit in the 3 day diet menu.

Supposedly, the grapefruit has enzymes in it that are supposed to help speed up fat loss. While there is some evidence that this is true, the real value of the grapefruit comes from the fact that eating it before your meal forces you to eat less at that meal.

Grapefruits are high in water and bulk and low in calories, which means that when you eat them they take up a great deal of space in your stomach. Because of this, youll eat less of other, more calorie dense foods, which means that you will eat less calories total at eat meal without feeling deprived.

Aside from the grapefruit diet, the way the 3 day diet menu tends to vary is a matter of the level of carbohydrates allowed. Some of the diets recommend a piece of toast or bread at each meal, other prohibit starches entirely.

Typically breakfast on these programs will consist of one of two choices. On the higher carb programs, its toast and peanut butter. On the lower carb programs, its usually going to be two eggs and some bacon.

Lunch is pretty similar in that regard. The high carb versions will allow you have meat and a piece of bread or toast and maybe some fruit. The low carb ones will just have you eat meat and a salad with full fat dressing.

Dinner tends to be the same for both, oddly enough. What youll usually be eating is meat and vegetables, and usually in fairly large portions, with dinner tending to be the largest meal of the day.

The higher carb versions actually have a tendency to be lower in calories to compensate for the extra carbohydrates. A lower carb 3 day diet menu will usually be much less restrictive in calories, so the key is to choose the diets you can mostly easily stick with.

Treating Lymphoma: The Various Procedures

Cancer is a word that most of us dread to hear from our doctors. We know that its something that should not be taken lightly, plus we cant even count how many times we have seen in the movies and television about the difficulties of the disease and more often than not the sad ending that follows. So hearing you have cancer of the lymph cells, which what lymphoma really is, is more than enough to give you and your family a scare. Treating lymphoma is never easy both physically and mentally for the patient. Having the full support of the family is a good thing to have in situations like these.

Lymphoma develops when the lymph cells begin to multiply quickly beyond what is normal. This abnormal growth soon forms tumors. These lymph cells are found in blood and lymph nodes thus with the grown of the cancer cells it is only natural that the lymph nodes enlarge and manifests as painless lumps in the neck, armpits or groin.

There are two main types of lymphoma. The most common one is the Hodgkin’s lymphoma. This type is distinguished from the rest by the presence of the Reed-Sternberg cell. The spread of the cancer cells in Hodgkin’s lymphoma is more predictable and often quite limited unlike the non-Hodgkin’s lymphomas where cancer cells develop first in other organs before spreading into the lymph nodes. The non-Hodgkins types of lymphomas are classified according low-grade, intermediate-grade or high-grade lymphomas which basically is based on how quickly the cancer cells spread.

Because of the number of types of lymphomas, the treatments vary. Often the treatments are combinations of various therapies and procedures. It is normal to have a number of treatments for a single lymphoma case. Once the type of lymphoma has been diagnosed and identified, the next step is to determine what stage it is in now. The kinds and extent of treatment of the cancer is dependent on the age of the patient and the degree or stage of the lymphoma. The treatment methods are either through chemotherapy, radiation therapy, antibody therapy (or biological therapy) and bone-marrow or stem cell transplantation. Again, combining one or two of these treatment methods is possible to address the present condition of a patient.

Chemotherapy uses various drugs to kill the tumor or cancer cells. The drugs can be taken orally or through injection. The advantage of using chemotherapy is that the drugs do not cause that much damage to the nearby normal and healthy cells. Radiotherapy, on the other hand, uses X-rays to kill the tumor cells. The rays damage the DNA of the cancer cells and because the DNA is damaged the cancer cells are unable to multiply which halts that growth of the cancer. Nearby healthy cells are damaged from the radiation bombardment so the goal in radiotherapy is minimize the damage to nearby, healthy cells. That is why those who undergo radiotherapy is scheduled to receive small doses of radiation at a time to lessen the damage to the cells.

Another treatment is the antibody therapy which uses antibodies which target unique molecules of a cancer cell. This attack from the antibody will eventually kill the cancer cells. And finally, the last way of treating lymphoma is by bone marrow or stem cell transplantations. These are medical procedures where the stem cells that were destroyed by high doses of chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy are replaced through surgery.

In the case of lymphoma, one would encounter terms like biopsy, bone marrow examination, blood tests, spinal tap and scans which are some of the basic procedures employed by medical experts to determine or confirm the presence of lymphoma.

Usually, the very first thing that helps determine if one has lymphoma is self diagnosis. Those that observe enlarged lymph nodes in the neck, armpits or groin would more often than not trigger alarm bells in the their heads. Lymphoma is a cancer of the lymph nodes and the immune system. As the cancer cells develop, a tumor is formed usually in the lymph nodes which manifests as painless lumps. Upon consultation, your doctor will issue a battery of tests to confirm if it is lymphoma and if it is indeed cancer determine what stage it is at to know the possible course of treatment.

A biopsy is usually the first test that your doctors will employ to confirm the presence of cancer in your lymph nodes. In a biopsy, a small sample of tissue cells is taken from the lump either through a needle or via surgery. The cells are then examined by a pathologist to confirm lymphoma cells and the diagnoses. By studying the sample cells, the can also determine the basic kind of lymphoma the patient has, whether its Hodgkin or Non-Hodgkin lymphoma. But to determine the subtle details, doctors revert to the procedure called as immunohistochemistry which simply means looking for the unique properties of the tumor cell surface through the application markers such as fluorescent dye, enzyme, or colloidal gold to accurately classify the tumor.

You doctor would most likely require you to undergo several blood tests. The blood samples would be examined closely to see the state of your red blood cells, white blood cells and blood platelets. These tests would also help determine if the cancer has affected your bodys way of producing blood. The blood tests could also show the condition of your kidneys and liver. And more importantly, the information gathered from the tests could serve as basic foundations for the kind of treatments or drugs that could be used for your speedy recovery.

Doctors might also require you to undergo a bone marrow test wherein a sample of the bone marrow is taken from your hip using a thin needle. It is a common procedure used to test for various cancers and other blood diseases. A spinal tap or lumbar puncture can also be ordered by your doctor in specific circumstances. This checks the fluid in your spinal cord and determines if any cancer cells have invaded the spine. This procedure involves inserting a thin needle at the lower part of your back and I can be quite painful and uncomfortable.

CT scans will also help determine where the tumors are exactly since it takes pictures of your body from different angles. An MRI scan, on the hand, will help determine if the cancer cells have spread to your nervous system or other body organs.

How doctors tests for lymphoma involves logical procedures whose main goal is finding out what exactly the patient has in order to determine what kinds of treatments would be used.

Medical Tourism: The Types of Cosmetic Treatments

Before, first world countries like the United States and the United Kingdom were the only safest places where you can get cosmetic treatment without the known risks. The growth of medical tourism recently has allowed people to get cheaper surgery without the risks posed by inadequate technology and facilities. You can now go halfway around the globe, enjoy new places, while getting the treatment you’ve always wanted to stay beautiful.

Getting Liposuction

Liposuction is described as the removal of localized and unwanted fat via suction technique. The surgery offers patients the opportunity to improve the shape of their body with minimal scarring. Liposuction is the most basic cosmetic process in America. It is not a substitute to weight loss, but is a great way to get rid of fat that are not affected easily by diet and exercise. Liposuction is used to remove the extra layer of fat, instead of those located deep within the body. A number of areas in the body respond better with the procedure.

Getting surgery abroad means that you can finally get the abs without having to pay for the same cost you expect in the States. The best time to get liposuction in other countries is when the weight has failed to go down after 6 months of consistent dieting and exercise.

Cosmetic Dentistry

Cosmetic dentistry is described as restoring, reposition or replacing teeth. It is primarily done to boost the face and smile of the patient. Irregular and uneven teeth can be guided to the right place via orthodontics. Malformed teeth can also be covered using artificial items like porcelain. In a number of cases, the teeth will have to be replaced or removed using artificial ones. Orthodontia is the process of taking out teeth by installing plastic and wire braces that will gradually push and pull these into the right alignment using adjacent teeth.

Restoration is the process of building up and resurfacing teeth via different treatments. Synthetic and natural bone material can be grafted right into the jawbone to build up the contours of the jawbone and face. The surface of teeth can be covered using artificial items like porcelain. The teeth also need to be strengthened to function as anchors to the replacements.

Breast Augmentation

You can get breast augmentation surgery abroad to correct the size and shape of your breasts. This is good for women who are aging or have given birth multiple times. The size of the breast can increase, providing you a more youthful appearance. Make sure you only choose board-certified and accredited plastic surgeons who focus on cosmetic surgery, particularly procedures featuring the breast.

Breast reduction surgery can also be done abroad via a medical tourism package. The procedure is good for women who experience discomfort and pain because of very large breasts. Aging individuals can also undergo the procedure for added convenience. The surgery involves reducing the size and shape of the breasts to lift these. Contact your surgeon and ask for the complete details before you travel.
